Lio mentors over 300 startups each year, and advises policymakers around the world on geopolitical matters.
Lio was born in France after his family fled ethnic persecution in Morocco and Tunisia. At 11, he was threatened for his life and attacked by a group of school kids for being Jewish at a subway station — pinned against a wall and seized by the neck in a violent assault. That day, Lio decided he would one day move to the United States and dedicate his life to ensuring that no one should ever have to live in fear.
After becoming an architect and managing the $300M renovation of the ILO/UN headquarters in Switzerland at just 25 years old, he took another leap to pursue his dream — moving permanently to the U.S. and earning a second Master’s degree from Columbia University. He then left the traditional path behind to become a full-time entrepreneur. Today, Lio empowers others to break free from fear and limitation, helping people and startups around the world build their own future — on their own terms.
